6 Reasons You Need a Morning Routine
What if you could change your life by changing how you start your day. What would you change?
I think the thing people struggle most with is reaching their potential. The average person is settling for less than they want and less than they are capable of. As a result of settling, life becomes a struggle. People want more but they don’t know how to create more in their life.
What do you want more of? Who do you need to become to achieve those desires? Are you dedicating time each day to become the person you aspire to?
Are you ready to wake up your full potential?
If you look at the most productive people in the world they all have one thing in common - they are early risers. The world’s most successful people swear by their morning rituals. Having a powerful morning routine will help you overcome procrastination, be a more positive, healthier person, and set you up for success each day.
Here are 6 reasons why you need a mindful, healthy morning routine:
Improve your quality of life. According to a study by the American Psychological Association, by creating and following a morning routine, your stress, depression, and anxiety levels will start to plummet and your life satisfaction levels will begin to soar.
Be proactive instead of reactive. According to a study conducted by biologist Christoph Randler, mornings are also when people tend to be the most proactive and productive. By starting your day intentionally you consciously create how you want to feel as opposed to being at the whim of external circumstances.
Create momentum for a having a good day. When you start the day right, you’re more motivated to keep it up for the rest of the day. You’ll be more invested in making healthier choices throughout the day if you’re already on a roll with an a.m. workout, meditation time and/or other positive behaviors. You’ve already got some skin in the game for living healthily that day.
Make better choices. Having a consistent morning routine allows you to save your precious decision-making ability for the more important choices in your day. Automating healthy habits not only frees up mental energy but also creates focus and energy for your most important work. A lack of a routine leads to decision fatigue. Because no morning is ever the same, you waste willpower making hundreds of tiny decisions which have little to no impact on your life and you end up making worse choices throughout the day
Have more time for yourself. Having morning self-care rituals ensure you've done something good for yourself and filled up your own cup first. Not only do we feel better, but life works better for everyone else when our needs are taken care of.
Take charge of your life. Developing a morning routine allows you to assert your own authority over the day. You take charge of your own work-life balance by, in effect, paying yourself first. Too many of us do it the other way around and are left with no time and energy to invest by the time we get to ourselves. As a result, too many people end up feeling at the mercy of their work and family demands. Responsibilities overwhelm, and they end up continually stuck.
Profound changes happen when we begin directing our day rather than responding to it. We stake our claim on the day before anything/anyone else can. And then slowly but surely we craft the life of our dreams.
How would your life change if you devoted a morning routine that allowed you to take care of yourself first and grow into the person you know you are capable of?
