Don't go it alone
No man is an island. And we aren't meant to be! Social connection is as important to our health and wellbeing as eating well, sleep and exercise (which is why we do Align and Thrive as a group).
We evolved in community and depended on each other for our survival. We raised our families together, we hunted, gathered and cooked together. Now, in our modern isolated lifestyle we suffer from loneliness and feelings of disconnection and separation.
One of the most impactful parts of teaching my Empowered Living course last year was the deep connection that was cultivated within the group. The support, encouragement and open-heartedness that was demonstrated over the last 9 months touched my heart in ways I would have never imagined. It became very clear that being in a community of like-minded individuals on the same journey of stepping deeper into their optimal life is not a luxury – it's a necessity.
Below are just a few of the reasons why you need a tribe.
You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. If you want to radically change your life, surround yourself with people who inspire you, support your growth and can guide you to where you want to go.
If you want to live a deeper, more meaningful existence, engage in deeper conversations with people talking about more worthwhile, significant and important things. (Fyi – this conversation is NOT on Facebook).
You need people to keep you accountable. Have you ever set a goal or made a New Year's resolution that you found yourself making time and time again and year after year? Change is difficult and trying to do it on your own is often not very effective. By holding yourself accountable to a group, you are 70% more likely to succeed.
You need a sanctuary. A safe haven where people accept you exactly as you are. Where you can show up and be greeted with an open heart and open ears. A place to be seen and heard. A place to share your struggles, your dreams and your desires and be greeted with encouragement and understanding.
You need support. Some of us are more open and extraverted than others. But all of us need community. We need connection. We crave intimacy and authentic relationships based on depth. As tough at it might sound to "go to alone", you need people to help you accomplish your vision (whatever it may be). You need people who believe in you and will cheer you on.
I created Empowered Living because I wanted to engage in more meaningful conversations. I craved more depth in my life and I wanted to hang out with other people who also wanted to go beneath the surface. I wanted to cultivate a powerful container for people who were interested in upping their game and stepping into their potential. I wanted to bring together people who wanted to learn Ayurveda, yoga and tools for a more mindful, awake and empowered life, and who wanted to do so in an intimate community. I wanted to bring together like-minded individuals to see what was possible when we practice and grow together.
My promise to you is that in 8 months you will learn how to reach your goals and stay on track. You will become more productive, more focused and more in charge of your time. You will solidify healthy habits and create strong boundaries around your self care. You will be supported in your growth in a nourishing community. You will learn to live with more ease and joy. You will become happier, more calm, and more satisfied with your life.
