Episode 115: The Yoga of Emotion Part 2 - Mistakes

This is part 2 of a 4 part series based on my most popular workshop: The Yoga of Emotion.

In this episode I share the top 4 mistakes people make when dealing with challenging emotions. These are mistakes MOST of us make because it's what we've been taught and programmed to do. However, these mistakes can be harmful and get in the way of cultivating emotional wellness and a healthier relationship with our feelings.

These 4 mistakes are:

1. We engage in avoidance and numbing behaviors to escape how we're feeling (overeating, over drinking, overspending, over-working, over-consuming TV or social media)

2. Judging our feelings.

3. Blaming things or people for how we feel.

4. Bypassing our emotions.

For each of these mistakes I talk about why we do them, what it's costing us and what happens when we stop making these mistakes and learn Emotional Empowerment skills (coming in Part 4!).
