What your emotions want

Like you, your emotions want to be noticed and accepted.

They don’t want to be doused with alcohol or covered in potato chips.

Or judged, criticized, shamed or ignored.

They don’t want to be cast aside for shinier, more desirable, "fun" emotions,

Or thought of as a problem or a nuisance.

All your emotions want is to be held in the loving embrace of your full attention.

They want to be observed with compassion and patience.

They yearn to be understood and want you to be curious about them.

They hold the secrets of your subconscious mind, and therefore your ability to truly transform.

They have the power to usher you towards your deepest desires.

They are the fuel for your goals but also your stickiest sabotage patterns.

Your emotions are both lie detectors and fortune-tellers.

THEY are what determines whether your actions will create the results you want.

And like you, your emotions crave connection, intimacy and unconditional love.

Emotional self-care is a big black hole in our education and understanding.

The most important work I’ve done in the last few years is changing my relationship to my emotions.
